Single-zone versus multi-zone cost
A multi-zone system shares one outdoor condenser across several indoor units. Total project cost rises with every head, while allocated cost per zone may fall because electrical and outdoor-unit infrastructure is shared. Separate single-zone systems require separate outdoor units and may require separate circuits.
Capacity, equipment tier and cold-climate performance
Capacity, efficiency, controls, brand tier and low-temperature heating capability affect equipment price. This page does not determine the correct capacity; that requires a defensible load calculation and site assessment.
Line sets, electrical work and condensate
Long, concealed or difficult routes add materials and labor. Many installations also require a dedicated circuit, disconnect and code-compliant wiring. Condensate may drain by gravity or require pumps and more complex routing.
